Edinburgh Fringe Round Up!
We are writing this the day after finishing our final performance of A HIGHLY SUSPECT MURDER MYSTERY at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2022. What an incredible three weeks we had! We were very lucky to have sold out shows every day (so many eager detectives out there), to be awarded 'Mervyn Stutter's Pick of the Fringe' badge, AND to pick up a really lovely 4* Review from Broadway Baby (https://broadwaybaby.com/shows/a-highly-suspect-murder-mystery/757597 ).
Thank you to ALL of the detectives who came to solve our cases - we ended up performing THREE mysteries across 26 performances; so whether you saw The Death of the Great Detective, Et Tu Shakespeare or The Curse of King Tut, thank you for coming along and working to crack the case! With over 400 teams across the run, that is a lot of little grey cells at work!
There were some brilliant team names across the run; some of our personal highlights include:
I SPHINX I KNOW WHO DID IT!
THE MERRY KNIVES OF WINDSOR
KILLER-PATRA & PALS
SHAKEN NOT SPEARED
I WOULD WALK 500 NILES
THE INVESTIGIZAS
And in terms of limericks, well there were some absolute doozies! But after much deliberation
A Shakespeare Scholar Is dead
The clues all about us are spread
The culprit skedaddled
Our Brains are now addled
So we're off for a pint instead!
So suprise Sherlock Holmes is not dead
His thinking cap tight on his head
We did the work
While Sherlock did lurk
And he'll take all the street cred!
We discovered the tomb of King Tut
And put it in a museum of smut
It left us all troubled
As the body count doubled
And left us all in this rut
We were also delighted to welcome two of the Mischief Theatre makers to our shows - as huge fans of their particular brand of comedy it was a real pleasure to get to perform for Henry Shields and Henry Lewis - did they crack the case? We couldn't possibly say :P)
We CANT WAIT to do it all again in 2023 - and if you thought 26 shows was a lot this year...lets just say you aint seen nothing yet!
Here is our rogues gallery of ALL our detectives from Edinburgh Fringe 2022 - can you spot yourself?
